Carol Arter (artist) donated gift to Sturry Primary School
Three weeks ago I read an article in the Heme Bay KM Gazette regarding the above named lady artist, who with the help of the children from Sturry Primary School, painted a wall and then donated the work she had done to the school.
I was very impressed by this story, as the view from my kitchen window was a white wall some 16feet long and 6ft high and the only view was this and the roof of the bungalow next door. I rang the number in your article and Mrs Carol Arter contacted me some hours later to make an appointment to view my very non descript wall.
In 8 hours she transformed it into something absolutley stunning, terracotta pots full of wonderful flowers, climbers going every which way and a sea view with mountains in the background a sandy beach in the foreground, seagulls flying by and a very colourful sailing boat, I have been transported
to a desert island, truly wonderful, she has a talent which everyone interested in art should know about. As well as the above mentioned wall, I asked her if she would put cartoon characters on the wall in my grandchildrens bedroom, in another 8 hours she drew & painted a scene of characters, my grandchildren came to stay the day after she finished, I had not told them about their new bedroom, their faces were a picture to behold and they said "Nanny can we stay here forever" quite magical.

I am writing to thank you personally for the marvellous mural that is such an attractive addition to the Infant outdoor play area. It really brightens up that space and has provided a stimulating focus that is much admired.
Your cheerfulness and the way you positively involved all the walking bus children (valuing their drawings and contributions, and including them effectively into the overall design) has resulted in all the staff and children in the school feeling very positive about the whole process, as well as the finished article. Thank you for spending your own time to give us something that will enhance our environment for years to come.
